Club Service
Rotary’s first Avenue of Service involves actions a Rotarian must take within the club to help it function successfully. Rotary International devotes a large amount of resources to Club Service in order to help teach club leaders how to successfully administer and organize a Rotary club that nurtures fellowship and provides strong programs and projects in the other three (3) Avenues of Service – Community, Vocational and International Service. In addition to the resources offered by Rotary International, the District has numerous resources that a club’s leadership may use to ensure a successful year. They include the District Governor, Assistant Governors, District committee chairpersons and members, and past district officers.
Club Administration is perhaps the most important aspect of Club Service that ensures a successfully Rotary Club. There are six (6) committees related to Club Administration; Attendance Committee, Program Committee, Club Bulletin Committee, Magazine Committee, Fellowship Activities Committee, and the Rotary Recreational and Vocational Fellowships Committee. The Attendance Committee encourages regular attendance at all club meetings. The Program Committee prepares and arranges the programs for the club. The Club Bulletin Committee creates a weekly bulletin that promotes attendance and announcing upcoming programs. The Magazine Committee attempts to stimulate reader interest in The Rotarian and sponsors magazine month in April every year.
The Fellowship Activities Committee promotes acquaintance and friendship among the members of the club. The Rotary Recreational and Vocational Fellowship Committee promotes fellowship activities to club members through club programs and projects.

And overseeing all of these committees is the Club Service Chairperson. Club Service Chairperson is responsible for ensuring that all the committees of Club Administration are doing their jobs on a weekly basis. The Club Service Chairperson is also responsible for the Club’s public relations, attendance, club greeter, membership directory, historian, bulletin/newsletter, weekly programs, Family of Rotary, and the mystery greeter.

The most important resources available to club leadership is you. You as a member of a Rotary club have the duty to ensure that you participate in your club functions and actively get involved in service projects. Only through your dedication to be the best Rotarian you can be will your Rotary club thrive and be a tremendous asset to your community, the District, Rotary International, and the world.
