Rotary Readers
Sonora Sunrise Rotary members volunteer to read to primary grade students at Sonora Elementary School in support of Rotary's Literacy Project.

  SFRC Christmas Party
Sonora Sunrise Rotary supports Sierra Foothills Residential Care home in several activities throughout the year. SFRC is a care home for developmentally disabled adults. At Christmas, we host a full turkey dinner for the SFRC residents and club members which includes a visit from Santa with specially chosen gifts for each SFRC resident. Members shop for assigned residents and cook all the food for this Holiday Party.

Woodcutting Weekend
Each fall, Sonora Sunrise Rotarians spend several Saturday mornings cutting, splitting and delivering firewood to seniors to warm their cold winters in the Sierra. Helping with this activity are members from the local Interact Club.

  Orient Express
Our Club took over the running of the annual Orient Express Run in 2004. This fundraiser for Special Olympics is held annually each spring in the beautiful hills surrounding Chinese Camp, Ca., just outside of Sonora. Members managed registration / set-up / traffic control / timing, etc.

Interfaith Bus Shelter
Sonora Sunrise Rotarians donated materials and labor to build this bus shelter for the Interfaith Community Social Services center. Interfaith, as it is known locally, provides food and clothing for those in need.

  Mark Twain's Cabin
The Sonora Sunrise Rotary's Centennial Year Project is the remodel of the well-known landmark, Mark Twain's Cabin. This historical cabin was in serious need of repair. Members, along with local historians, researched appropriate materials and underwent extensive approval review with Tuolumne County prior to beginning this project.
